Glass fibre tester FI-500 Fluke Networks FI-500 Networks

Glass fiber test device for quick and reliable check of glass-fiber plug connection surfaces.

Dirty Glasfaser-Endflachen are the most common causes of problems in single mode and multimode fiber optic systems. The FI-500 FiberInspector™ Micro eliminates the difficulties encountered in the testing of Stecker-Endflachen, especially in environments with low light conditions and high cable density. It is very easy to use: just plug in the cable in the FI-500 and touch the AFTaste. In seconds, the plug end face clear and sharp. And if you need to work in very tight spaces or the image is not quiet, simply touch the pause button to freeze the image.

Just right for troubleshooting
The closely occupied fiber optic patch panels make the tests to a challenge. It can be difficult, the cable to be tested or the port to locate, especially among the dark conditions, which are now in most data centers and wiring cabinets.

The FI-500 simplifies the review process. The built-in port bright lighting helps you to find the correct port or the right cable. The narrow probe fits in narrow spaces, and has push buttons for a simple operation. With the autofocus, you get a clear view of the end-face in less than one second, while the pause button the image on the sharp 320x240 display for more precise investigation from freezing.
The FI-500 Micro fills the gap between a manual FiberInspector Probe and a fully automated test probe. The FI-500 has the simplicity and practicality of a manual inspection camera, but also the advanced functions with which troubleshooting and testing time to be shortened.

Manual inspection cameras can easily be used, but they do not work very well with patch panels or in situations where the glass fiber high density. If they are to keep an eye and the other closes, the often uncomfortable or not practicable, especially in a dark room. Fully automatic inspection cameras analyze and evaluate the cleanliness of the fiber connections, which is important for many applications, but an analysis is usually for a fast, basic troubleshooting is not required.
