Description

The LWL tester combines optical power meter (OPM), optical light source and red light source (VFL) in a compact measuring device for testing glass fiber connections. As a versatile fiber-optic tester, it enables the measurement of optical power, the determination of light attenuation as well as the quick localization of error points and fiber breaks in glass-fiber cables. The fiber optic cable tester is suitable for installation, maintenance and troubleshooting in fiber optic networks.

The integrated optical power meter (OPM) supports wavelengths from 850 to 1650 nm (850, 980, 1270, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550, 1577, 1625 and 1650 nm) and covers a measuring range from -70 to +10 dBm. Using the REF function, a reference value can be saved to reliably determine relative power as well as the insertion loss.

The optical light source (light source) operates at 1310 and 1550 nm and is suitable Ideal for attenuation measurements on single-mode glass fibers. Thanks to the combined OPM and light source function, measurements can be carried out very comfortably with the fiber optic cable tester.
