Why Carbon Ribbon?

Unlike standard wax tapes, the carbon formula offers superior abrasion resistance and chemical resistance. The high color value provides for perfect contrast on white paper, plastic and foils, while the fine pigment distribution provides pin-sharp texts, barcodes and logos.

Use of the color bands (ribbons)

The color bands form the central element of M2_H technology and enable a flexible selection of colors and materials for various application scenarios. The standard bands of the M2_H-series consist of a wax-resin mixture with a typical length of 24 meters and transfer color pigment through heat precisely to paper, plastic or textiles. The black Baseband ensures highest contrast for barcodes and texts, while white versions on dark backing materials offer optimal readability. Red, gold, green and blue tapes are available for special requirements, which enable warning labels, premium packaging or color coding. Carbon or resin-based belts are particularly suitable for industrial environments with high wear and tear, as they offer superior adhesion to smooth surfaces such as metal or glass.

The tapes are installed in a few seconds by opening the side covers, inserting the new cartridge with integrated RFID chip and automatic detection by the printer, which adjusts the print parameters accordingly. Premium versions such as satin or metallic tapes produce brilliant effects for gift tags, jewelry labels or event decorations, while special carbon tapes are optimized for long-term archives and outdoor areas. The belts should be stored dry and cool at 15 to 25°C for full durability and opened rolls should be consumed within six months.
